Visiting Artist Lecture
Thursday, November 5
6:30-8:00 PM Adler E105
Material Exchange is an artist collective that creates installations, games, designed objects or spaces, and direct exchanges. They say about their work, "The world is filled with things made for a specific purpose. When their purpose has been fulfilled, or their valued properties diminish, there is often some material remainder. Our projects attempt to extract or exploit that history..."

11.06 Introduction to the Sound Studio (Steve Strait)
An introduction to the Intermedia sound facilities.
October, 2009
Open House, Fall 2009
The Intermedia area of the School of Art and Art History will be holding their bi-annual Open House on October 23 from 7 to 9 pm at the Studio Arts Building, in the old Menard's store at 1375 Highway 1 West, the intersection of Highway 1 and Sunset Street in Iowa City.
It’s been awhile since Intermedia had a permanent place to call home. Steeled by the jumps from the Art Building to the International Center to the Communications Center, this semester's Intermedia Open House will be held at its permanent home, the Studio Arts Building. Intermedia is the last area to move to Studio Arts and finally complete an integrated studio arts facility.
The event will feature a variety of works by undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the program. This includes time-based video works, 2D and 3D works, as well as performance and installation. Pieces will be shown in the Intermedia areas, back of the building as well as in the Atrium of Studio Arts.
This event is free, open to the public and is sponsored by the Intermedia Program of the School of Art and Art History.
Works-In-Progress 2009
The Intermedia area is excited to be participating in the upcoming Works-In-Progress festival this week.
The festival will take place over three days, October 1st to 3rd, in Iowa City, and feature eight panels of creative work by filmmakers, poets, intermedia artists, composers, dancers, playwrights, and artists working in any other imaginable medium.
